This document explains how the service screens incoming transactions, when identity verification is required, and what happens to a suspended order.
1.Purpose of the policy
This policy describes the measures the service takes to counter money laundering and terrorist financing, and explains when a client may be asked to confirm their identity.
2.Transaction screening
Every incoming transaction is screened automatically: the origin of the funds and the address’s links to higher-risk sources are assessed.
Each transaction is given a risk score. Above the threshold, execution of the order is suspended until an operator decides.
- Funds from addresses linked to sanctions lists.
- Funds from mixers and anonymisation services.
- Funds linked to fraud, extortion or hacks.
- A pattern of operations unusual for the client.
3.Identity verification (KYC)
Verification is required for payouts in fiat currency, when threshold amounts are exceeded, and when AML screening is triggered.
For a fiat payout, the recipient details must belong to the verified client. Payouts to a third party’s account or card are not made.
4.Data and its retention
Verification data is kept to the extent and for the periods required by applicable law, and is used solely to meet anti-money-laundering obligations.
Access to the data is limited to the employees who need it for their work. Every access to the data is recorded in the activity log.
5.Refusal of service
The service may refuse to execute an order if screening is not passed or the client has not provided the requested documents.
On refusal, the funds are returned to the sender less the network fee, where this is technically possible and not contrary to applicable law.
6.Questions about screening
If an order has been suspended, write to support and quote its number. The operator will tell you which documents are needed and when a decision will be made.
